Potty training, one month on.

It's now been just over a month since Millie began her Potty Training journey. Although, it seems like longer. We have certainly had our ups and downs, starting off really well, then having a week of accidents and a very stressed Mummy!

But we stuck at it and I think it's safe to say that Millie is now a very confident potty trained toddler!

When I last blogged a potty training update, Millie was just starting to use knickers during the day rather than pull ups. When we started potty training we used Huggies Pull Up's day and night, this system worked at the beginning. Millie found the pull ups easy to pull up and down and they felt slightly different to nappies so she knew when she had an accident/needed to go. She soon got the hang of the potty and also knew when she needed to use it. So the next step was moving from pull ups to knickers.

I was really dreading this step, but didn't let it show. I wanted Millie to feel confident and happy about the knickers. I knew that I had to have confidence in her.

To my surprise she took it all in her stride, she told me when she needed to go and if we were out she either used a toilet or her potty. Each day seemed to get easier. She had one accident in a shop and she was really upset about it. I thought that it might put her back, but actually I think it just spurred her on even more. A few days after the incident in the shop she told me she needed the toilet, however we were standing outside of Chester's School gates and had about 5 more minutes until they were open. I asked her if she could hold it and she said yes. That 5 minutes seemed like an hour for me! I spent the whole time thinking she was going to have an accident all because I had left the potty at home! But to my surprise she held on, she was so pleased with herself, that she even told Chester's teacher!

So her daytime transition to knickers has been a huge success, she is still in pull ups at night time, however she has woke up dry every morning for the last 3 weeks. I am super proud of her!

Selfishly I am also really sad. I know that my little baby is growing up. Thats it now, no more babies in nappies. Another milestone reached, another reason for me to be sad that my two babies are growing up so quickly!

Is anyone else going on a potty training journey this summer?
