Easy cheese scones!

Yesterday Millie asked if we could bake, yes at 2 years old she is already showing signs of being just like me! She really loves to bake!

I scoured the cupboards for ingredients and just about scraped enough together to make some scones! This is a really easy recipe, children of all ages can get involved!

Ingredients:

225g Self raising flour
50g butter
50g of grated cheese (plus a little extra for the top)
100ml milk (plus a little extra for the top)

Method:

Rub together the flour and butter until it resembles breadcrumbs, then mix in the grated cheese and pour in the milk. Mix together with a wooden spoon until it becomes a soft dough.

Place onto a lightly floured surface and roll out to about 2cm thick. I used a small round cutter and managed to cut out 12 Scones.

Place the scones onto a baking tray lined with greaseproof paper, brush the tops of the scones with milk and sprinkle a little cheese on top. Please note that if a toddler is doing this with you, you will have to take the cheese off and start again unless you want more cheese than scone?! Or maybe thats just Millie?!

Bake for 12-15 minutes at 200 degrees.

Place on a wire rack to cool, but let me tell you these are best served warm! Yummy!
