Bizzy the Butterfly audio book review

Recently I was asked if I would like to review a new type of music CD. Bizzy the Butterfly audio books, books, CDs and books for babies and toddlers combine music and short stories, illustrations and games, and feature Bizzy and all of her friends in the big, big garden.

Seeing as Millie is 19 months old and loves music, I thought this would be something she would really enjoy. I love the idea of an audio book that is aimed specifically for younger children, often I feel that Millie misses out a little for her age range.

The CD came nicely wrapped, with extras such as stickers, recipes and information on other products coming soon. I will add that the story (Bizzy the Butterfly and the Creepy Crawly Co-operating Caterpillar) is also available to download, I chose the CD version because its convenient for me in the car.

I chose to first play the CD when on a journey over to my parents, a 45 minute journey. Millie was instantly engrossed, she already loves butterflies, so as soon as she heard the word she was excitedly shouting 'butter......flyyyyyy' ! The story has a lovely mix of words, song and music. The musical pauses when questions were asked are a great idea, it gave a chance to prompt Millie to chat.

Chester, almost 5, was initially not impressed. However, even he was answering the questions asked by the narrator by the end!

The only negative I have is that it's not great for long journeys, we replayed the CD about 5 times on our 45 minute journey. Great for the kids but it was wearing thin with me by the time we reached my parents! I think it would be great to have more stories on the CD. The CD, which can be purchased on Amazon, has an RRP of £4.00, I would be happy to pay £10 and have more stories on the one CD.

We have since listened to the CD on almost all car journeys, it has been well received here, I am pleased that Millie now has an audio book specifically for her age group. It really has made her car journeys more fun!
