Rastamouse book review

Chester is a fan of many a kids tv programme, one of those is Rastamouse. I am more than happy for him to watch the programmes especially if it means I can get on with making packed lunches or cooking the dinner!

If you do not know who Rastamouse is (you should!), he is a Reggae and skateboard loving mouse who is good at solving mysteries. To find out more about Rastamouse visit the Rastamouse website Rastamouse has a growing fan base including Simon Pegg, Lily Allen and Dizzee Rascal!

4 years... where has the time gone?!

On Sunday my biggest baby Chester will be 4. FOUR!!!!! I can not believe how quickly the time has gone. I am so proud of him and what he has achieved so far in his life, he amazes me everyday with the things he does. I am also a little sad that his childhood seems to be going so quickly, I take A LOT of pictures so can look back any time I like but really seems to of just flown by! It only feels like yesterday he was a tiny baby in my arms!

Chester, of course, is super excited that he will be 4. Instead of a party, this year he has asked if he can go to  the cinema with his best friend! To me that is such a grown up thing to do, so its just another reminder that he is growing up fast! His birthday list consists of Ben 10, Moshi Monsters and money to put towards new Skylander Giants. Last year his birthday list consisted of Happyland and Cars! Again, another sign that he is growing up!

So now its time for me to reminisce with a few photos from his first 4 years........

Half an hour old
First outfit!

First Christmas, leaving cookies for santa!

First experience with paint!

First cake making with Nannie!

1st Birthday!

Finally mastered walking at 18months!

Making salt dough decorations!

First experience of Disney, he takes after his parents and is a massive Mickey Mouse fan!

Still messy with the paint!

Playing the part of a soldier in the nursery school play!

Becoming a big brother
Meeting his Sister

He looks so grown up here!

Becoming an adventurer

A caring big brother

So after going through all the photos I am reminded even more how quickly he has grown up! Love him so much, cant wait to celebrate his 4th birthday over the weekend!

Hipp Organic my first yogurts review

A little while ago we were sent some of the new Hipp Organic range (so look out for further reviews coming very soon!). Millie has been very busy trying out the Hipp Organic My First Yogurts range, they come in two flavours Raspberry and Banana.

The first thing I noticed was that they do not need to be chilled, fab! Perfect for taking out and about for snacks! I then read the boxes which state that they contain 80% yogurt therefore providing 23% RDA of calcium per 100g. Each pot is 50g, most Mums I know say that their babies have 2 pots of yogurt a day, so I think it is fair to say that a lot of babies would be getting almost a quarter of the daily RDA if they were given these yogurts!

Millie took to them really well, which I have to admit I was a little surprised at first as the consistency seemed to be a bit thicker/different to yogurt we are used too. The pot size of 50g was perfect for her (at age 8 months). I tried her on the yogurts at all times of day, for breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack and even pudding. She was very happy and always waiting for the next spoonful very soon after the yogurt had gone in her mouth! I have to say she didnt show signs of a favorite both went down really well with her.

As a Mum calcium intake is something I worry about with both of my Children, We always have yogurts, amongst lots of other dairy products in the fridge. But what is even better now is that I know that I can take yogurts on the go without having to worry about keeping them at fridge temperature. So I can give a calcium boost wherever and whenever I like! This actually came in handy last week when we were on holiday at Center Parcs, I brought some to take with us and kept them in the change bag for a healthy snack after swimming!

The RRP is £1.49 for a pack of four, if you would like to find out more info on the new Hipp yogurts please visit Hipp.co.uk

Including the youngest

I know I have said it before but I am really very aware that I need to treat both of my Children the same. What I mean by that really is give them the same amount of attention, right now I am finding this really hard. Chester is a lively 3 (nearly 4) year old, who has lots of interests and more energy than a swinging monkey! Millie is an 9month old baby who's interests are milk, food and rolling around the front room faster than anyone else!

First family holiday with Millie!

Millie is almost 9 months old now so we thought it was about time she joined us on a family holiday. I have been going to Center Parcs since I was a little girl (so for about 22 years) and I love the memories I have of holidaying there. I have since introduced Craig to Center Parcs and of course Chester. They both love it too so we decided (well Chester claims he decided) Millie's first holiday should be to Center Parcs Elveden Forest. I decided that it would be nice to go with my parents, my sister and her boyfriend as everyone gets on really well and the children adore them all!

Dear Zoo touch and feel book review

Last week Chester and I were lucky enough to go to Macmillian childrens books head office in London to celebrate Dear Zoo turning 30! You can read about our day and enter my giveaway for a signed copy of Dear Zoo here.

Did you know that over 5 million copies of Dear Zoo have been sold since it was first published in 1982?! What an achievement, and if any of you have read the book (either as a child or to your own children/grandchildren) you will understand why it is such a popular children's book.

Jingle Puzzles review and giveaway!

Recently we were sent a jingle puzzle to review and here is what we thought.....

Chester loves nursery rhymes and can often be heard singing away to Millie, he does like puzzles but his attention span is short so normally I have to finish them off for him! So when I was told about a new range of puzzles by Music for kids I was intrigued  to see how long they held Chester's attention for!
